Why the LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn?

Up here in Canada, I had never seen nor heard of the LÍLLÉbaby before. I ran into them randomly on Facebook and was instantly intrigued. As we prepared for our move to the island, I knew lugging a stroller everywhere was not going to be practical and had started looking at different toddler carriers. Tornado toddler is nearly 2 years old and a hefty 25 pounds so finding something comfortable was my #1 top priority, I’m not necessarily the strongest of mamas in case my frail frame didn’t tip you off. Most carriers I have tried on/used pull terribly on my shoulders and lower back and were completely useless after the first 15-20 minutes of wear for me. When I started looking at comparison reviews, even with some of the top carriers, the LÍLLÉbaby was outperforming them all and was more affordable too! I was hooked, the prints were beautiful, the design was practical, and the price was right! I got in touch with the company and discussed the possibility of reviewing the tokidoki “Rebel” CarryOn. As you can imagine, I was beyond thrilled when they offered to send me one.

The day my LÍLLÉbaby carrier came in the mail was better than Christmas! I pulled apart the packaging like wrapping paper and woke my baby up from her nap (no joke) to put her in it! I tried it first in the front carry position. It is completely different than the leading contenders in baby carriers! The shoulder straps are thicker and more importantly, the weight is completely distributed on your hips! For the first time I had found a carrier that I could wear for extended periods of time! I found the back carry was more practical for me, you know, the whole free arms situation… I also found it physically more comfortable to have her on my back. Her first few times in the carrier she fussed and cried, she was a little scared when I walked or went up and down the stairs. But within a few hours she was settled right in and started to lift her arms to go in her carrier.

How the LÍLLÉbaby helps you accomplish more and sweat less!

You may giggle at the thought of that, but seriously, a clingy toddler produces a sweaty mom. I’m talking natural deodorant just doesn’t cut it kind of sweat. Bring on the antiperspirant ladies! You can be more natural in a few years 😉 I don’t know about your toddler, but mine is in the throes of “stranger danger”. She doesn’t want to be put down or looked at or talked to. She feels uncomfortable and afraid and pretty much doesn’t leave my arms as soon as we are in a new place: church, shopping, functions and get-togethers, etc. Read more about how I respect my children’s boundaries HERE. Not only is this stressful and sweat-producing, but it often pulls me away from discussions when I am constantly dealing with her. The LÍLLÉbaby has changed it all! I bring it with me every single time we leave the house. As soon as we are somewhere new and she starts to fuss, I just have to ask her if she wants her carrier and she throws up her arms. She LOVES her carrier, snuggled in close to mom, knowing she won’t be pulled away from me. She feels secure and safe and my arms are free to hold a cup of coffee or help my preschooler take off her jacket.

Does this picture not say it all? While babywearing is great, daddy babywearing is even better! So many carriers nowaday’s are very feminine. The “Rebel” LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn was a carrier I KNEW my hubby wouldn’t mind strapping on. Bright, colorful, comfortable, he can wear my toddler or even my preschooler and help free up mommy for a little bit.

How the LÍLLÉbaby helps me homeschool!

Homeschooling with tornado toddler is the equivalent of trying to have a picnic on the floor with a 3 month old puppy roaming free. It is aggravating, it means constant interruptions. She wants to color, she takes the lids of all the felts and colors on herself and the wall for good measure. She helps herself to the fridge and falls over in the living room. It is never ending! I have found that other than nap time, I can get a solid hour of quality school time in with her in the carrier. I pass back a cracker every now and then and have a little bit of a crumb situation in my hair afterwards, but my hands are free and our school room is safe from her destructive ways. It is homeschool heaven, I should have been doing this for years. It only took me 5 kids to discover the joys of babywearing (oy)!

LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn, the final word…

I mean, if you can’t tell from the flavor of this article, I pretty much could kiss the creators of the LÍLLÉbaby. It is the absolute perfect carrier for our family and we don’t ever leave home without it. We use this carrier every day and I can’t believe the difference it has made in our day-to-day life. If you have a baby or toddler and are considering a new carrier, I HIGHLY recommend the LÍLLÉbaby, and I’m NOT just saying that because I was given one.
