Despite the growing number of people who are choosing to homeschool their children, the general public continues to remain grossly unaware of what homeschooling is all about. There are many opinions based on misinformation, lack of experience, and generational prejudice. We can change that and I’m going to tell you how!
What is the I am Homeschooled Campaign?
I am tired of misinformation and naive remarks against my children. I am tired of my kids being put to the side because of some jaded (and incorrect) prejudice against homeschooling! I am determined to give my kids the best start in life but also to CHANGE how people around me view homeschooling. Not as a cop-out, lazy mans school, or weird unsocialized commune… but as the best choice for MY child with very real benefits that my kids couldn’t possibly get in the public school system. That is the vision behind the I am Homeschooled campaign.
Think of some of the benefits homeschooling has brought to your family, to your children. Think about some of the primary reasons you chose to homeschool in the first place. For this campaign, we are going to be sharing the graphic below (or one of your child) with YOUR reason or benefit along with the hashtags #IamHomeschooled and #rebeccaspoonerpg. These hashtags are important, they are how we can find each other’s posts and share them, and I WILL be sharing your posts! All you have to do to search for someone else’s is go to the Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram search bar and type in #IamHomeschooled. Everyone’s posts will show up in a list and you can go through and like, comment, or share as you fancy.
