Creating Monetizing Goals
As we go into making our media kit, you need to have a really clear focus of how you want to monetize. There are so many options and opportunities, you need to choose options that align with your brand, that you are comfortable with, and that you are passionate about. If you choose options simply because you want to make money, you will lose steam, lose your vision, and potentially lose your brand in the process!
Take a look at some of the various ways you can monetize your site:
Selling ad positions
Sponsored Posts
Affiliate Partnerships
Sell an eBook
Create an online course
Sell a product or service (ie. something you make, or becoming a VA, etc)
MLM opportunities (ie. essential oils, coaching programs, makeup, etc.)
Choosing something you love
I love sponsored posts, I only choose content that aligns with my brand and I get free product that benefits my family AND a paycheck. As long as I am carefully choosing content that is within my target market, my followers love them too! However I know a lot of bloggers who stay as far away from them as they can get! If you aren’t into them, your readers will pick up on them and it will just feel like a bunch of work.
So choose something you LOVE! If you want to help people, offer a service! Create YouTube tutorials showcases how to do something you’re good at! Monetize it with a few ads on the bottom or affiliate links in your videos. The possibilities are literally endless! I used to spend hours, days, weeks trying to think of ways to make money. Once you start thinking of the possibilities, you can’t turn it off! I could drop my blog tomorrow and start something new and be just as successful, because the world is my oyster people! And it’s yours too!
