Homeschool mom’s wear a lot of hats and trying to get everything done is exhausting and sometimes just entirely out of reach. One of the most common questions I get asked is “How do you do it all?” I realized that people see pictures and videos of us homeschooling, they see my very obvious presence online and they know I am busy with five little kids. This is strong on my heart because I know there are a lot of you who are feeling like failures. Who feel like they aren’t doing enough, or not doing it well, or maybe you just aren’t cut out for this. And I wish I could bring you into my chaos on one of my crazy days: with my no-makeup face and vampire black circles under my eyes. With my laundry piles all over the house in various stages of completion and my kids running crazy. I wish I could have you over and be totally transparent so you could see that I do NOT do it all all the time! That real life is messy and chaotic and it’s okay!
Debunking the myth of “110%”
Take your day and divide it up, leave time for sleep and eating and then add in the time you need for each aspect of your life. Cleaning your house, cooking meals, home baking, laundry, investing in your marriage, taking care of yourself, work (if applicable) and homeschooling your kids. To do all those things 100% how much time would you need? Can you fit it all in? In most cases I would say NO WAY! In this week’s podcast I address the supermom mentality and (hopefully) make you feel a little bit better on those days that you just feel like you are getting by by the skin of your teeth. You’ve got this mom!
