Every holiday season I pull out my arsenal of Christmas music and blare it loudly from morning until night. As an early Christmas decorator, inevitably by November I am starting to get sick of the same songs rotating on my playlist. When I was sent a review copy of Chris Tomlin’s new CD, Adore, both my children and I were thrilled to have some fresh beats playing through the speakers. Adore is a collection of songs featuring guest performances from Lauren Daigle, All Sons & Daughters, and Kristyn Getty. The harmony is beautiful and the CD does not disappoint.
What we thought of Chris Tomlin’s CD: Adore.
My first impression of “Adore” when I pressed play was that it felt very much like another worship song, which is kind of cool! The songs on this CD are a blend of worship with a Christmassy feel and message. It includes some original Christmas songs such as Noel, Midnight Clear, What Child is This, and Silent Night, but each one with a new take. The words are a bit different, the tune is different, etc. “It’s Christmas” is a blend of “Away in a Manger,” and “Go Tell it on the Mountain,” done with a blues, bee-boppy feel. It is sure to get you snapping your fingers and harmonizing along with the CD. Finding music my husband and I enjoy together can be a challenge, but somehow we are always united when it comes to anything Chris Tomlin!
I really enjoyed the worship feel of this CD, the musical expression and creativity, and of course, the sound! I have always been a huge fan of Chris Tomlin and we have purchased every single new release as soon as it hits iTunes. Each song points towards the true meaning of Christmas and it is a wonderful addition to any Christmas collection.
